I am past president of LL. I believe the way this rule is being implement is completely wrong.

The change is too jarring for those kids that are already in the system. I think that it's a HUGE risk for Little League and I think the sign ups and it's popularity will suffer once the home run numbers and quality pitching goes down. Personally, I feel like my son's BEST year of Little League was just stolen from him and he'll never have that "top of the class" experience that I and that past however many years of kids have had. If anything, this should have been implemented with incoming t-ballers. Now, kids will be pitching 8 months early than they used to. That is bad not only for their arms, but parents simply won't tolerate watching a WALK-FEST. That first year of kid-pitch is already bad enough and now it's about to get that much worse. I think this is where you'll see little league shrink- at the 8-10 year old age. Kids won't have a chance to feel successful. I'm disappointed that this is being forced on us.

This is NOT right. It wasn't implemented in a good way either. The ONLY way this should have been done is to have it adopted by incoming t-ballers. To do it to kids in the system and rip away their best year of Little League is criminal and very discouraging. This petition will gain steam once people are registering for the Spring season in January, so please post it on your Facebook & other social media. There are going to be a LOT of angry parents and coaches out there.

This petition will gain steam once people are registering for the Spring season in January, so please post it on your Facebook & other social media. There are going to be a LOT of angry parents and coaches out there.

this rule change should start at the bottom. Tball, that way no current players lose a year of eligibility.

The intentions are good but the execution is far from acceptable. I have to believe with the grand tradition of Little League that a more thought-out solution would have been found. I'm very disappointed and as a Coach/Dad it becomes even more difficult to bridge the gap on the playing between an 8 year old and a 10 year old.

If the intention was to eliminate 13 year olds from playing was the cause, they went to an extreme. There will be A LOT of kids who won't even be able to play as an actual 12 year old now. Lump that in with a certain age group that will have to play with kids that are grandfathered in, and you are putting alot of kids in the same age group with kids that are, in some cases, 20 months apart. You will have kids that are 9 years old but Little League age 10, playing against 13 years old that are Little League age 12

If the intention was to eliminate 13 year olds from playing was the cause, they went to an extreme. There will be A LOT of kids who won't even be able to play as an actual 12 year old now. Lump that in with a certain age group that will have to play with kids that are grandfathered in, and you are putting alot of kids in the same age group with kids that are, in some cases, 20 months apart. You will have kids that are 9 years old but Little League age 10, playing against 13 years old that are Little League age 12

What a horrible decision--I thought the goal of Little League was for kids to learn to have fun and play the game with kids their own age? There are huge differences in development and maturity in this 20 month age bracket. The difference in age will not be fun for the younger children in this as they won't be able to compete with the older kids’ ability and skill level. Additionally, the young kids in this new age bracket will miss a fun year of baseball--all so a handful of 13 year olds don't play in the Little League World series? Did Little League International even consider asking or polling the opinion on the more than 2 million children/parents involved in the Little League? Little League International seriously needs to review their own mission statement--does this unfair decision really promote their mission statement? I don't believe so: "Little League Baseball, Incorporated is a non-profit organization whose mission is to "promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball and Softball."

Totally unfair to a young group of kids just learning to love the game. How does the League expect these kids to enjoy playing (it is about the kids and fun isn't it??) when they're forced to complete for positions and playing time with kids 18 months older. Horrible decision for the future of kids in Little League. This must be reversed.
