While I agree with the theory of the rule change, I think the implementation is totally wrong - Joe Poppiti - LLWS 2013

This change will prevent many 5th graders around the country with a viable option for playing baseball in an age / skill appropriate team.

My son will lose a year of eligibility. I believe the change will be good in the long run, however the fact that only the current 11yo are grandfathered in is wrong! I believe all the players currently eligible for all star play (8-12) should be grandfathered and start the new ages with the 7yo this year. Less impact to the kids eligibility and the leagues.

if you want to change the rule then start it at the youngest level and let it work its way to the top. to cut a child's age at this point and have them be out an entire year would be just wrong.

Do not deny children an extra year of little league. Too many kids have been working way to hard for a shot at something special.

what is the reason behind taking away a year of fun, physical activity, sportsmanship, and just plain ole fashion little league?!

Not a good rule change. Forcing kids to lose so much eligibility is just wrong. Would make more sense to say that whatever the age is of the child on Dec. 31, 2014 then that would be the age they play at in the 2015 season.
