AAP students at Homewood, just as any other students on campus, deserve access to the Health and Wellness Center, Counselling center and JHSAP. With transitions being hard, not having access to these services may just be what sends the students over the edge. Even though AAP is considered a part-time program, a large fraction of the students are full-time on campus with a heavy course load. As hard workers, they need the facilities for relieving stress and staying healthy, which aren’t available to them. In addition, off campus facilities are usually more expensive and harder to access, especially for international students.

In other words, AAP students should not be treated differently. The recent policy change might cut financial expenses but at the cost of making the programs less attractive to domestic and international students and appearing as though they are not fully welcome as Johns Hopkins University members. AAP students feel as a part of the Hopkins community and are disappointed that they are not treated as such.
