i work for the council and everyone is worried about losing their jobs. We have had our pay dropped or frozen for years, how can they give themselves a rise

Being a councillor is about wanting to help the people. I stood for council three times and wasn't elected and when I first stood I didn't even realise you got paid. The money didn't interest me in the slightest. It's about doing what you can for residents.
