Stop Killing Beavers in Kingston

Killing beavers has no logic at all, it seems to stem from pure hate.

Accommodate with flow devices-- do not kill our national symbol

I have never seen an Otter or Beaver in my yard, but I can assure you the swelling population of rabbits in our West end area are destroying all vegetation on our properties!

I expect better from the City of Kingston: Find an effective, non-lethal means. There are great examples out there of actually using beaver dams to control flooding and revive landscapes.

Please do not do this. Save the beavers.

Beavers, like all sentient beings, deserve kindness. They don't deserve to be killed unnecessarily, or treated cruelly unnecessarily. Please stop killing the beavers of Kingston. Thank you.

I find this cruel, unnecessary, unimaginative, and boorish. Don't just kill: evolve and do better. Try living in harmony! Canada would not exist as we know it without this creature.

Find another way. Trapping is cruel, and horrific.

Since managing beavers can be done without killing them, why would any community not choose the humane method?!

There was a good documentary on the nature of things called the beaver whisperer. in quebec someone had found a better way to work with beavers so all made out better in fact.

Every single species has their part to play in the world's ecology - if we remove beavers, or deplete then to the point that they can't maintain a population, we are contributing to the destruction of our world.

There is absolutely no need to kill them.

There are clearly ways to deal with flooding while leaving beaver families in place. They do not overpopulate their territory. Fine way to treat Canada's National Animal, and during Canada's 150th celebrations.
