Jordans are loved by many people in the world today. As a sneaker head, I try to get my hands on the top Jordan's that release since they are the top shoe worldwide. Although Jordan shoes are amazing, there has also been trouble with them.

On the news, in articles, and magazines, there have been many stories about kids who have died over a pair of Jordan's and I believe this needs to end. But the acts of violence that come with getting a pair of sneakers is not new.

Some Examples from the past vary from each situation, such as:

The sneaker-related murder of teenager of Michael Eugene Thomas on May 15, 1989 which had media coverage in an issue of SI. On May 14, 1990 an issue in the magazine was about the Air Jordan V and a gunman on the cover, with the stark line "YOUR SNEAKERS OR YOUR LIFE."

Another example in the same year, was 16-year-old Johnny Bates who was killed in Houston after deciding not to give up his Air Jordan's at a local bus stop.

With these two examples, we can see that violence can happen over anything even if its a simple thing such as a pair of Sneakers. By Signing this petition, after 1,000 signatures we will send this to Michael Jordan by mail, asking him to speak up against the violence on his Jordan Brand Shoes. We will also ask him to make the prices more affordable as a way to stop the violence.
