In the past year there have been several incidents of jet boats, even a jet ski, coming up river from the Yellowstone. As landowners in the Shields River Valley, we feel strongly that this is an inappropriate use of the river. Rounding turns on such a small stream often at a high rate of speed, jet boats pose a danger to other river users, livestock and irrigation equipment. We encourage Montana FWP to enact and enforce a clear ban on the use of jet boats on the Shields River.
