It would feel reasonable to me to change the support moving forward allowing families who are committing to permanently care for children to be aware of the lack of support from the beginning but to take it away from families who were promised this support, were approved for adoption based on this support and who made the decision with this support in mind is unfair. Many families have committed to permanency of multiple children and 180,000 isn’t taking into consideration the family size.

I hope this does not come into effect as it seems like it has not been thought out and planned well what so ever.
Will people be asked to prove their income yearly ? This seems like a lot of additional work! Likely the new workers employed to deal with additional work will out weigh any potential savings.
In the overall government budget, supports for permanency are a “drop In The bucket” and this seems like picking the low hanging fruit instead of making an actual difference.

Cutting funding based The total salary of two parents would be ridiculous. You would completely eliminate motivation for parents to permanently adopt children. Especially when most people adopting are typically making higher income incomes anyway.

This is absolutely wrong to cut funding for these families and kids. We all had an agreement and this was part of it. ITS 100 % WRONG for this to be happening especially at such a hard economical time.
