It is wrong to destroy a tree with an active eagles nest in it. Eagles are protective species.

We are lucky to call so many of these magnificent birds our neighbours here in the Lower Mainland. Many of the large trees are disappearing and they need them to nest in. This needs to stop. The destruction of an active nest tree is a terrible thing and I hope the person that did this will be punished for this

It is time decide if we value green space in urban areas. Do we just pave everything and make money or do we make serious efforts to protect wild areas for our benefit and those of urban wildlife?

I hope this never happens again. Security cams at each accessible eagle nest tree would help. Praying that justice will prevail and the ignorant individual/s who did this will be caught and prosecuted. Thank you for your consideration on this issue.

Please protect all trees that have bald eagle nests and enforce a significant punishment to anyone who destroys one. . With the pace of development in the Lower Mainland and elsewhere in B.C., there are fewer and fewer trees left that are large enough to support an eagle nest.
