Petition for Governor Cuomo to stop the Human Trafficking of New York State Developmentally Disabled citizens for billions of Federal dollars. * Let's see who is profiting and being exploited for Federal Dollar$ THE EXPLOITED: - Developmentally disabled individuals being forced to go to day programs year-round, despite hazardous road conditions, subzero temperatures (-15 below weather) and heat waves. When schools are closed, they are still going. WHY? $$$$$ - Medically frail, elderly individuals with MR, stage four kidney failure, hypothermia, wheelchair bound, NO ONE is exempt. Can you imagine going to school FOR LIFE in these conditions, with little to no break, because they can't say the word "No" WHY? $$$$$ - Various Mental Hygiene Law violations and unsafe living conditions, including Radon Gas exposure, asbestos exposure, drinking water located 25 feet from a septic tank, individual to individual abuse and many more unethical practices. WHY? $$$$$ - The caregivers... Being harassed, intimidated and fired for speaking up... Non-for-profit employees being poorly paid. (eg A bus driver transporting 16 souls, all alone, and after 15 years being paid only $11.20/hr)... Caregivers being mandated on double and triple shifts. - Caregivers not trained adequately to care for individuals with mental health issues and then being made scapegoats when things go wrong. LETS SEE WHO'S PROFITING - State of NY/OPWDD making millions off bogus res-hab goals - Greedy CEOs from non-for-profit organizations making hundreds of thousands of dollars in pay (not $11.20/hr like the said bus driver) - Transportation companies - High ranking state officials/employees - Retired law enforcement working for the Justice Center, double-dipping with Governor Cuomo's permission - Politicians playing dumb to the facts - Arbitrators - Unions making millions Tell Governor Cuomo that this is not OK, by signing this petition!
