STOP HR 6939 FROM BECOMING LAW

If this is passed, there is no going back to the precious wilderness we treasure and enjoy, on foot, on horseback and with friends.

Once lost, we can never get these spectacular soul-enriching lands back.

HR6939 would be more correctly named restoring development to out of state corporations. I have fought hard to keep Commissary Ridge in the Wyoming Range roadless since the 1980s. It's irritating, to say the least, that a non resident like Cheney introduces this legislation without my having a say about it.

This bill should be put on hold until public meetings are held throughout Wyoming!

Where are the leaders with foresight whose values reflect our love of the irreplaceable wild places and not just the almighty dollar.

I spend half my year on our public lands. I hike, bird, paint, camp and derive my life from y The beauty of public lands. It’s extremely important that wild areas are protected from further development.

These designations need to have public input. The county commissioners in Lincoln County Wyoming serve the special interest groups and could care less how the public feels. HR6939 will result in the destruction of our BLM and Forest Service land just to pad the special interests groups pockets which includes Representative Cheney's pockets !

Exploring Wyoming's wild lands as a child is 100% the reason I developed an interest in science, an appreciation for nature, and a passion for the outdoors. These lands are crucial for inspiring people in all kinds of ways - please don't take them away!

I venture into Wyoming public wild lands to find solitude and solace in these times. Let's protect Wyoming wild lands for further generations to enjoy. They are a national treasure.

The adventure begins where the road ends. If the road never ends, the adventure never begins. Wyoming's roadless areas are rugged, difficult landscapes - that's why they are still roadless. We can't afford to take proper care of the huge inventory of public lands roads we already have. Please fund the USFS and BLM so they can take care of principal system roads, trails too, instead of adding more miles into wild country that provides something that is rare in Wyoming and vanishing in America - extensive backcountry habitat and chances for people to experience adventure and solitude. Last, rather than mandate the rollback of roadless area protection without holding a single field hearing or soliciting "Local Input" (as the bill's title indicates), please ask citizens to weigh in on the status of these gems before you strip them of existing protections. I oppose HR6939 for several reasons! One specifically is the introduction of this bill with no public comment allowed from the people of Wyoming.

Open, undeveloped land is worth protecting!!

There are already too few wild spaces. Let's keep what treasures we have left so the next generation can enjoy wilderness, too.

Why does HR 6939, with no public comment, assume we who actually own all that public land, want it removed from protection? This is another attack, following this administration's outrageous dismantling of Bears Ears and Escalante Grand Staircase! Did the recent election not indicate to the Republicans that we want a different direction?? Take note! Thank You.
