This legislation will get the ball rolling on a path of irreversible damage to an area that needs to see no impact.
I know not very many people head out to the Red Desert. But I have been one of them. And have seen first hand that this is a truly special place. After visiting countless national parks and other public lands across the country, this place has stood out to me as something totally unique. I have never felt the feeling of being in such a wild, untouched place. A place that is other-worldly. A place that needs to be protected.
So please, tell Representative Cheney to stop what she is doing. I gladly didn't vote for her and believe she needs to get back to caring for her constituents.

As a public landowner, I’m very much against HR 6939that would open 4 million acres of wild land to things such drilling, mining and off-road vehicles, thus having the potential to destroy these forever; my grandchildren would never have the opportunity to see these landscapes and the wildlife like they are now and that would break my heart. Wilderness is and always will be vital to a healthy and happy society

I agree some study areas and some restrictions should be removed. However, The state doesn't require these companies to be bonded and insured nearly enough. Let's have a discussion before we pass a bill.

It is a shame that one person can think they know the will of the people with out hearing the voice of the people. Protect these lands Wyoming is unique and beautiful and to have these areas destroyed in the future by corporations is absurd. I do not approve HR6939

How greedy are the people who donate to election campaigns, and allow this pressure to give buddies more land to rape and pillage? There isn't any more land being made. We have to take care of what has been set aside for future generations.

If the bush admin. Would have invested in clean energy instead of the oil war we would not need to drill in our special places. Also the after math of war is a cancer on our country and world. Please remember our verterans and also think of the millions of innocent people we murder and mame for oil.

Representative Cheney is taking too much leeway in her sole decision to remove protections on public lands. Public Lands are a shared resource that should involve shared decision making.

HR 6939 is an assault on our public lands. Public lands are and their protection are paramount to the people of Wyoming. Over and over again the people of Wyoming have voiced strong support for the protection of public lands. I'm afraid Ms. Cheney does not listen to her constituency.
