Liz is for oil companies, not Wyoming, and this bill with the ridiculous name proves it. No public input!

Dear Rep. Cheney: Your proposed bill HR 6939 is misleading in the title. Actually you call for removing huge swaths of public lands from previous federal protection, which is hardly “Restoring Local Input!” If your Bill we’re passed, it would do away with public hearings, surveys of public assets , and scientific input as to what wild lands will support. Perhaps the energy and timber interests are the only groups you think should benefit from the public lands, but our nation has determined time and time again, wisely so, that public hearings and scientific studies should also be heard from. Please re-consider before you attempt to muzzle citizens and advocacy groups in determining the future uses and protections of these lands. In my family, we have enjoyed the outdoors in Wyoming and other states for 5 generations. Please re-consider this harmful legislative proposal!

Public lands, while important to those who live nearby, do belong to every citizen. Limiting "input" to local interests does not protect the interest of those who co-own public lands. We deserve an equal say in how public lands are managed.

It is easy to destroy a wilderness area it is never easy to restore it. These areas should be carefully studied before they are allowed to be developed.
