At the very least hold a public meeting to reconsider opening pristine lands to mining and not the protections always provided before. We the people need a voice on this issue which is the essence of Wyoming.

These lands are our lands and must not be given away to corporations that would destroy it forever. We must protect these lands not destroy them.

I have hiked and backpacked many of our public lands in Wyoming (also Montana, Colorado, and South Dakota). I've seen the damage that off road vehicles do in areas not designed for them. I've also seen the damage of clear cutting. And, it's been proven that in areas of drilling, animals move away.
Wyoming's # 2 source of income is from tourism, and we MUST protect our environment so that people will WANT to come here and see our beautiful places!!

This is a horrible bill from someone who does not respect our public land freedoms and treasures and wants to give it up for special interest. Thank you for getting this petition going.

This bill is against the wishes of Wyoming people. This bill will ruin our Wilderness Areas that are a huge draw for backpackers and hunters, our second biggest industry and the only one that is sustainable on that land. This bill is a give-away to big oil, Cheney's friends, and is a corruption of what true governance must be. Liz Cheney, you should be ashamed of yourself.

This is a sneaky way to transfer these areas to private ownership to allow mineral extraction and limited public access. We humans need wind energy that is non-polluting, not more oil and gas. Having lived in Scotland where access to hunting and fishing is limited to the wealthy because of private ownership I can tell you that Liz Cheney's bill is the first step toward restricted access and environmental decimation. It should also be noted that forwarding this bill without public notice or input is, in my judgement, an unethical political practice and should be opposed on that basis alone regardless of its content.
