The jolly butcher has been in place for as long as I can remember. Queensgate would be a drab old place without it. He reflects the friendly and welcoming ambience of the shop and staff.

Remove this council .... Not the iconic butcher man! Utterly incredulous! Laughable it's beyond ridiculous, let's have a tilting pier, run down centre with no vision. Empty shops, poor infrastructure, horrendous 60's bridge street criminal architecture ... The market town once Inverness has gone and the last little bit of character they pick s fight with one of the best businesses there is! Exemplary job Highland council, keep going and destroy the electorates confidence that you even care about what actually matters!! Add to the ever measurable disregard of the people!! Surely the most unpopular council ever to sit in modern times!

Why move something that's doing no harm? I used to walk past this all the time and know my grandchildren go past it evey time they come to visit .And they love to see the big man ! its ridiculous don't people have more to worry about .

It is no way a nuisance or blocks the pavement, tourists and locals love him, he's part of inverness now, be like taking away the castle!

My children, when young, over 30 years ago, loved to say "Hello" to the Butcher Man and would pat his apron on the way past. We have very fond memories of him and would be very sad to see him moved away.
