Ridiculous. This statute has been in the town for 30+ years and done no harm. Makes for a great landmark for tourists also.

Clearly the Council struggling to achieve the savings they need to make without impacting on their expenses! Ridiculous. Or is this to fund the tilting bridge ?

Even as a little kid coming to Inverness for the day, seeing this jolly chap outside the butchers was fantastic. Leave him be. My kids know they are nearly at granny's when the spot him

this is a good sign for visitors & tourists, also locals like to see this jolly butcher figurine outside the shop, what tosh the local council come up with, perhaps these hairbrained ideas should be put in a more useful direction, like catching litterbugs etc.

Hasn't this mostly incompetent Highland Council got other more important issues which they should be prioritising e.g. the refusal to listen to the vast majority of people who have an issue with the amount of money they propose to spend on the tilting bridge (Gathering Place)!!!which will be a red herring and this huge amount of money should be spent on much more needed projects in the area..
