It's been there longer than can remember. Real shame to see it go. I would go as far as too say it's just as important to Inverness as the statues. Faith, hope and charity just not as old lol never the less just as important. Plz let him stay

He cheers up the street. All you need to do is look at the post office which is a disgrace. Then you have the bus stops where the people cause congestion (no fault of there own ) plenty of much more important things they could be doing.

I don't see why or how this jolly butcher statue would ever bother anyone or take up any space on the sidewalk. I've only been in Inverness for 3 years and I see this butcher as part of the city's character.

This is a ridiculous suggestion - theres plenty other things on Inverness streets that need sorting out before this one - kids from far and wide have this as a landmark 'good thing' about Inverness city center - to outweigh the dregs of society who make the city center a place of worry. Back down Highland Council.

It has been there forever, it is not an eyesore and the butchers even dress him up at Christmas time which means they take pride in the jolly butcher. Remember this is the council that are trying to push a tilting view point on the river when nobody wants and even letting people no other choice than to quit if they say no. #JOLLYBUTCHERMUSTSTAY

Could be just like a right of way - after its been there so many years - it becomes permanent!!! Highland Council should spend their time on more important issues.

The council obviously have too much time and money on their hands if they can pursue such petty dictates.

Absolutely ridiculous. Pull yourself together Highland Council. Do something worthwhile with your time.
