It has been a landmark in Queengate for years and it is in no ones way, so way is Highland Council making an issue of it now? I get my bus from Queensgate everyday and i have seen tourists having their photo taken with it. Leave it alone.

No reason to remove this. It hasn't been a problem for 30 years, whats the problem now? It's a local landmark, hope it gets to stay

Culture and Heritage is what we are all about. Cowardly, faceless people who write offensive letters, tantamount to threatening behaviour from people we allegedly voted in. Why do Highland council consistently score 'own goals' by aggravating and executing draconian behaviours against its constituents. What comes next - Modernisation of the Victorian Market and covering up the optics in pubs to obscure the fact they sell acloho. Ridiculous behaviour from Highland Council - leave culture and history alone or you will be voted out.

The butcher as been part off the family business for years,it's doing no harm sitting outside shop,stop and think and deal with the mess the town centre is in.....

The council need to focus on more important things. Sounds to me as they have too many bosses with too much time on their hands. Lets start with cuts and thin some them out.

I remember the butcher from when I was young. He is an icon and all children love him. He has never done any harm so these numpties just need to leave him be!

It's ridiculous, surely appropriately securing it would suffice instead of demanding a shop owner removes a landmark at queens gate!

What harm is it doing? Highland Council really need to get their priorities right! Absolute disgrace they are spending time and money on such a trivial matter when there are so many important issues they should be addressing!

Can't believe there is a petition needed for this, these used to be seen outside many butcher's shops. This one has been well looked after and looks far better than any sandwich board! How about get rid of the idiot in the council who came up with this nonsense, revenue collecting nothing more!
