(1) Grass not being watered and or maintained ie:(cutting/weed eating grass around name markers down to dirt, etc.),

(2) Utilizing UTV/ATV Off-road and Street Vehicles on grass, driving over plots, leaving ruts and heavy equipment imprints,

(3) Not notifying the public of major changes being made at Cemetery or through any media outlet(s)

ie: Posting at Cemetery, Tribune, News Stations, Social Media (Removal of all Benches & Personal Memorabilia from graves & discarding into a trash pile, etc.),

(4) Discharging of small caliber firearms on cemetery grounds during peak visiting hours for rodent control, while family members and children are present,

(5) Blatant Desecration of grave sites, Destruction of Grave Sites, going against the rules that are posted at the entrance of the cemetery,

(6) Immediate action to remove all Maintenance Personnel of Highland Cemetery

We the undersigned, are concerned citizens, families who urge Highland Cemetery Board Members to act now to fix these atrocious issues immediately, of the cemetery grounds and to allow us to grieve and remember our loved ones as we see fit. The grieving process is not something that is easily forgotten, the decorations, benches, statues, flowers, photos, stuffed animals/toys & letters that we bring is our way of grieving our loved ones by removing those hastily and tossing them in a trash pile the grieving process starts all over again, this is our right to grieve our loved ones and to honor them. Decorating for the holidays and seasons is a way to make this new eternal home more welcoming not only for them but for us as well just as their earthly homes once were. These plots that our loved ones are in are bought and paid for this is a piece of real estate that is owned outright by the individual and families.

I am disturbed by what I saw at my family plot and the whole cemetery in general. It has never looked this bad.

This is unconscionable and disturbing that this is allowed to happen at these cemeteries in Great Falls, MT! Please sign and share this petition!

Its hard enough to lose a loved one. But for me I buried both my parents within 6 weeks of each other. The grieving never stops. Their resting place, is a place where I go daily. My family and I have given many endless days of maintaining their graves. By planting new sod, planting bushes and flowers. I have placed statues along the headstone only to be moved around. Their flowers and bushes have been urinated on and killed. I bought a beautiful bench I placed there, only to be thrown in a pile behind the office like garbage. Like hundreds of other graves were desicrated to. These plots are bought and paid for. It is their little realstate or property. But with sarcasism they told us it is rented and they will do what they want. Sadly to say, they are theives in the night! I watched many people digging throw the rubble looking for their loved ones things. Absolutely heart breaking! During the colder months when fresh flowers are gone. I placed silk flowers. Only to be stolen over and over again . And this year to see the entire cemetary with dead grass, due to lack of concern by turning the water on. When all there water comes from the river. I pray many will sign this petition, for Highland cemetary was beautiful years ago and taken care of with pride. Now its terribly sad to see.
