New Orleans east has had a hard time revitalizing since Hurricane Katrina. Economically, we need retail businesses and restaurant to lure major companies to our part of town. The only businesses that has come thus far has been Dollar General, Family Dollar and Dollar Tree. Putting this half-way house in our neighborhood is like attracting another dollar store.
I urge you to reconsider this project in another neighborhood.
We are law abiding taxing paying citizens just like any other thriving community.
Sincerely,
Pearl E. Noel

Putting this at the entrance to one of our finest subdivision is a racist statement that we are nothing as citizens in this community.

The N.O. East area is in need of viable businesses that will benefit the community. We are not a dumping ground for a half-way house. NO THANK YOU!!!

New Orleans East was once a beautiful area of New Orleans to live in. Since Katrina, we have adopted more Section 8 Housing and Dollar Stores then we care to count. We need more businesses, restaurants, shopping center/malls. NOT A HALF WAY HOUSE...NNO THANK YOU

New Orleans East has become the dumping ground for all that is not wanted anywhere else. I have live in the east for 40 years and continue to fight to save our community.
