Why should a dog get any different treatment than a cat?

About time the law changed

This is important, to save the heartbreak of never knowing what happened to your cat. To get the body back to bury and know what happened is important, or you search for years hoping to find it

It should be the law it's disgusting that people would not even stop

it would be kinder if motorists had to stop and report if they kill a cat. At least then if the cat is microchipped the owners could be informed. We are still waiting for our lovely Tonks to come home.

we pay to have our cats microchippedand spayed/nutered same as a dog - cats are part of your family ssame as dogs - you get fined for mistreating cats same as your dog you have to report when you hit a dog - then why dont cat have the same rights here - this is the only thing that the law has not got right when it comes to cats and there welfare and well being they too deserve the same respect as dogs.

Make it the law to stop if you hit a cat

I love Cats, have done so since I was s child. Cats are healers. They snuggle up with you, and purr, until you feel better.

I always stop and check cats in the road, i lost one to the road a few weeks ago too x

Everyone should sign this, Your cat is part of a family and when your cat gets killed by a car, and then just left there. Its not nice for the family.

This is a disgrace something has to be done!

It make me wonder where the compassion has gone in the world as it is today............... I have never hit an animal whilst driving and never would. I have been the car that stopped though, late one night on my way home from work. Cars in front were swerving to the other side of the road as i drove past i saw a cat stood awkwardly in the road - Slammed on the brakes and jumped out of the car. Managed to pick up the cat that was bleeding from the nose - i didn't know what possible injuries it could have but knew i needed to get it into the car and to a vet quickly. Long story short managed to get the cat to the vet and it only had superficial wounds and concussion - I was amazed as the vet told me the cat was feral and i shouldn't have been able to get near it - Animals know when someone if there to help. Unfortunately its didn't have a home, but i kept tabs with the vet and homing centre and they found it a new home to go too. I WILL ALWAYS STOP FOR AN ANIMAL IN DISTRESS Good Luck and here's hoping someone will do something to change this.
