I find the shield way safer because it covered everything, but the halo is absolute garbage. If a spring from debris would fall and go through the side the same thing will happen halo or no halo.

This decision seems to have been made without any real support from fans, drivers or the teams. Given that the Halo would almost certainly have not saved Bianchi, may not have saved Massa and could potentially make some incident worse, it does not seem logical to introduce such a controversial measure in a high-risk sport with an amazingly low injury rate as it is.
