Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL, has been fining players for wearing pink and purple to raise awareness for Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence. As you could have guessed, this does not rest well with about all NFL fans. Not only would this be outrageous and unacceptable from any standpoint, but the NFL has a month dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness! DeAngelo Williams, who has had multiple members of his family pass away to Breast Cancer, is being fined $5,787 for each game that he puts the words, "We Will Find A cure", and a pink Breast Cancer ribbon on his eyeblack, which is hardly noticeable considering you are wearing a helmet. William Gay, a teammate of DeAngelo Williams, is being fined $5,797 for wearing purple cleats in hope to raise awareness for Domestic Violence, which is Mother was a victim and tragically passed away from. Both players have asked the NFL to grant their wish to wear purple and pink when they play, and the NFL has declined these requests. This is unacceptable, and embarrassing for the NFL. This needs to change. Please help me in trying to stop the NFL from fining these players for honoring their mothers and trying to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness and Domestic Violence.
