North American van Lines affiliate company Household Movers (in Canada) is holding my goods ransom, increasing the bill  monthly. The bill now sits at $6700.00. They, Household Movers, damaged and lost items when they moved me from my home in 2011, and when I reported this to the owner, the extortion and inflated charges began. As of September 2012 they have refused to release all my household goods to me, yet are billing me for monthly storage of those items with high interest charges. They have been paid the required $500.00 for the move, and storage monthly to Sept 2012 at $250.00 per month .  I took them to small claims court, they all collectively lied and this effort was useless. The bill has increased by $4000.00 since then. I am being extorted and taken advantage of.

The latest action by Household Movers was an auction notice served to me while I was travelling this summer, Sunday,August 25 2013.  There is a court process in the way of an appeal pending, court is closed for the summer, yet they are still  trying to force me to pay as of today's bill $ 5600.00 or  they will  auction all  I own.

Please sign this petition to negate the balance on the bogus Household Movers bills and have my goods returned to me. Boycott North American van Lines and Household Movers until this is effected, as no one has the right to treat me or any customer in this manner.

With 100 signatures, this petition will be presented to government as a request to change existing law so that customers of moving companies are protected from such extortion schemes.

Contact your politician to ask for stricter laws to avoid this type of shady behaviour in the future for everyone. St. John's NL , S Rowsell

This is completely illegal. How can they just decide to hold someone's life belongings hostage? Never using these guys.
