For years Sri Lankan Elephant has been exploited and abused by humans. What do they say in Buddhism?
May all animals be free from suffering.
Well actions speaks louder than words.
Stop abusing living animals and creating them enormous amount of pain and discomfort.
Starting with the Perehera , Political parades, circus and Zoo.
They're feet are bound with chains/shackles it is a very sad sight to watch them hobble along at the Kandy Perehera. They hardly could walk. All four legs bruised and battered by iron chains what form of entrainment is this??
How could a sacred relic allowed to be carried by our chained slaves?
We do not want any part of this.
Sri Lanka it is time to put an end to this, please stop abusing our Elephants.
Set them free from getting abused and exploited.

The Kandy Perehera officials are still pretending that chaining elephants in heavy iron shackles is acceptable tradition. I am currently compiling the evidence of these bruised legs to send directly to the ministry offices. Silence from the government will not stop us from exposing this cruelty.

Wicked, wicked & cruel must be stopped-now. These beautiful animals deserve a free life
These poor animals should be free it's so cruel chaining them up and using bull hooks it's barbaric
its heartbreaking to see them suffering like this in the parades. no animal should be chained up for entertainment
this has to end. keep them away from the parades and let them live in peace.
STOP THE CRUELTY!! Elephants belong in the wild not walking around on concrete with heavy chains on their legs.
Stop all elephant abuse now!
Stop exploiting elephants, animals, etc. Release them to their natural habitat.
