Rockaway carries a disproportionate amount of the sick,elderly, mentally ill and criminal population. Long Island city has added thousands more if new housing units immediately surrounding the 59 th street bridge. How many are “affordable@ or low income units? This area has note access to a number of superior transportation options as well as a short distance to nyc for health, welfare and job opportunities. Also understand they may have just lost a big corporate investor. Mayor diblasio and the queens senators -we vote!! Stop dumping on Rockaway!!

Over the years the Rockaways serviced the homeless, the elderly and those with mental illness. We do not have the ancillary services to care for more dependent people. We need sand replenishment, a reliable hospital that will be able to address the medical needs of all with highest quality.

I live on this block and i dont think this is a safe place to house anyone. Furhermore we have 1 hospital why ate bringing more people here.

Rockaway Beach is inundated with people that are Elderly, mentally Ill, economically misfortuned and out of work . In addition
The community is riddled with alcoholism and drug addiction. Rockaway has a more than fair amount of people that are still underserved. More housing of the homeless will overtax the services in place and overload the systems possibilities of good care. Retired Therapist RHG
