SPCA spoke to Mr Chin, site manager of this construction site under LBS Properties. According to SPCA, below are the statements by Mr Chin:
- The workers there do slaughter the dogs there, but they do not eat them.
- They said there are hundreds of dogs there coming out from the jungle, and they are all super hungry and so they become fierce and attack people
- already a few cases of the people there bitten by dogs
- They have no other ways to get rid of these dogs, so they give order to their workers to kill them
- They kill the dogs with a parang knife
- The workers there are only obeying orders to kill the dogs

Seeing this grow so quickly gives me hope that these innocent dogs will finally have someone fighting for their safety. The cruelty happening on that site is impossible to ignore now that so many of you have joined the cause.

My heart breaks knowing these poor dogs are suffering at the hands of people who are just following orders. We are nearing our first hundred signatures and your momentum is the only thing that can force these contractors to find a humane solution instead of a parang knife.

This stray dog killing in Malaysia does neither the country or LBS construction any good. In fact it is a stain on you. Contact some organizations to help you. Meanwhile feeding them will stop them attacking people.
There must be another way. It's a pity that a charity doesn't go in and spay or neuter these dogs to stop the breeding. A compassionate approach would be wonderful PR for the company and indeed the country. Please don't kill.
Stop the slaughter and get appropriate help. And, stop giving the crabby excuse that the dogs attack because they are hungry! They are not lions or tigers. I have fed enough stay dogs to tell you that they approach you to beg or food and NOT TO ATTACK!
STOP dog slaughtering, if you are a responsible contractor, you can at least build a temporary shelter for the dogs to keep them away from your workers. By all means feed them with your left over food, they will in return protect your workers from snakes & other jungle predators.
Neuter & Spay! Neuter & Spay! Neuter & Spay! This mantra is a simple logic to control the population! If you can't manage it contact the animal shelter!!! AND LBS IS A LISTED COY WHICH CAN SIMPLY AFFORD NEUTERING FEES which is a fraction of their directors salary!!

Have just got back from there, fed many dogs on the way out from the Highlands, friendly and sweet creatures, get a better method of population control-spay/neuter. Killing them is disgusting and inhumane, if thats the case I will not be going back.
