We, external personnel working in the European premises, up until now we have accepted the discrimination that exists even in 2020 that separates the permanent staff from ourselves by passing under the metal detectors every time we need to enter the European buildings. This body check is as like we are some kind of terrorists even when we might be working for European Institutions more time than some new-comer but permanent staff. Until recently, we had to just remove the jacket and any metallic item that it will make the detector sound the alarm, but this has changed now to also remove the belt from our trousers even if it did NOT make the metal detector sound the alarm. For example in case you pass though the metal detector and it did not make a sound, but they see you are wearing a belt they ask you to pass through the machine again and remove the belt. Why this is happening and why this regulation applies especially for people working in the building for months or even years, it is purely a form of discrimination. All this discrimination has to STOP when entering the building. They say that it is for security reasons, but how is it possible that you only check and separate a group of people, who are already registered in your databases and hold a badge, only of a different colour. This is the exact definition of the discrimination that we are living, the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people based on the employment.
