The new Dollar General store in Reo has filed for a liquor license. With our SSMS & SSHS county schools within 1500 ft, two churches and a private school within 100 ft. and a small neighborhood, this is NOT the place to sell alcohol. There are plenty of local places for this to occur and we are petitioning the local ABC board to reject this license request.
The momentum behind this is undeniable. It proves our community refuses to let this happen near our schools and churches.

Please. There is enough broken families in this area. They don’t need another convenience to buy a bottle of liquor. There’s plenty within 5 min. Don’t help to improve the broken family population. Thank you

I am so excited that we have this store in Reo; however, I am very much against alcohol of any kind being sold in this store. I feel this way because this store is very close to two schools, two churches and a restaurant/gas station that caters to young people before and after sporting events. I deal with alcohol/drug related problems in my counseling office and our jail on a daily basis. This additional place to buy these products would only be an added problem if in your store. We talked to the manager about the sale of alcohol in the very close proximity of schools, churches and residential areas. He was extremely kind and nice. This is not his call, obviously. I hope the store is successful, prosperous and safe.
No alcohol sales, please.

This location is to close to schools and churches. I know that the statue is written as to so many feet away from churches and schools but lets use some common sense. There are three schools in this neighborhood and two churches. This is no place to be selling alcohol.

I’m not in favor of this license being granted to the Dollar General. Please take into account the surrounding religious entities, public entities and surrounding neighborhoods. One reason to consider is having someone who has already have been drinking and coming here to buy more alcohol/liquor with the SSHS, SSMS and the private school all in close proximity with our kids in this area. I wouldn’t want to lay a student to rest because of an accident that could be avoided be denying a liquor licenses now.

I do not want my children attending school next to a store that sells alcohol. To think kids in school could possibly have access to alcohol legally or not, does not set a good precedent for these students or the school.

Appreciate Dollar General NOT selling alcohol to minors. Really do not need the sale of alcohol so close to churches and the schools.
