Recent reports in Pakistani media are needlessly dragging name of Dr. Mansoor Sarwar in the controversy surrounding fatal shooting at Punjab University. Dr. Mansoor Sarwar is among the few Pakistani educationist who have contributed selflessly towards educating the masses. He was a Professor at University of Portland, a job he left to serve in Pakistan. He joined LUMS and quickly rose to prominence, but left the institution on the basis of his principles. He later joined Punjab University, where he has contributed immensely in converting PUCIT from an unknown institution to a leading college in the field of IT. This petition urges all media personalities, companies, associations, etc., not to destroy the prestige and dignity of Dr. Mansoor Sarwar by mentioning his name in baseless reports and allegations. Such media trial can damage state institutions immensely and deter other personalities from entering public education. We also urge IJT to show restraint and not take names without any evidence.
