New talents and creatively minded people crop up everywhere, all the time. It's these people that shape our culture. Cutting the funds in the arts gives many of these people an ever decreasing chance of making their mark. Without these people, our lives would have no sense of identity or self-expression. The government surely cannot discard the arts, since they are surrounded by it everywhere!

I completely agree with everything said. It's unfair that the arts are getting cut when they're one of the subjects that need the most support.

I cannot wait until everybody realises the positive impact on society as a whole that the arts create and the importance of the arts to individuals, charities, politics, schools, communities and the beneficial global effect they have.

As a second year dance degree student at London Studio Centre I am fully behind you! It's hard enough to find the money to support ourselves with financial help at the minute, never mind if they cut student loans for the arts altogether!

Government fund uni courses of level 6 standard so why is the arts not included. Do you not go home in the eveni g and watch TV. Maybe go to the cinema, theatre listen to the radio? Cut the funding alowing people to train in the arts and your cutting the quality of your relaxation for the ones who trrain are the ones who entertain you day in day out.

I grew up performing and was lucky enough to gain a scholarship on a Musical Theatre course. I then worked professionally and now I pass on my experience and knowledge through teaching. Arts education should be as accessible as all education and can create such a bright and rewarding future for young people. My younger brother is now following in my footsteps and will be training full time at Birmingham Ormiston Academy from Septemeber and I hope he can achieve his dream and work in the industry. Young people should be given all the resources and support they need to pursue a career in the arts, just as young people wishing to pursue a more academic career are.
