The cuts to the arts are resdiculous, arts are important. What do people do in their free time and for leisure? Watch tv, go to the theatre, the cinema or watch films. All these couldn't be possible without the arts and actors being trained. I am currently at a pre vocational called Boa and our school is severely struggling.

As a musical theatre student going on to study vocationally in London, rent and loving costs are ridiculously high. Funding is important. The arts are important.

without these funds, the industry becomes a career for the upper class, and those who have talent miss out on opportunities because they can't afford to attend drama school. Talk about equal opportunities?

I am now at a degree stage in the performing arts, all my education and hard work has been put into this. If this goes through, after I leave university, I'll be left with nothing to do

I've been at BOA for nearly 12moths now and my grades in Musical Threate and my core subjects have never been higher. This is because I purly enjoy waking up on a morning and going to school. I didn't enjoy my old school what so ever! Don't crush our dreams!!! Honestly if people would consider watching some of our shows, you would be blown away and I'm proud to say Im part of it all.

It truly breaks my heart that people feel the arts isn't as important as other career choices or other areas of education and so the government keep making these cuts. It's atrocious and it needs to stop.

This school doesn't just teach the arts, it teaches youngsters to become well rounded, well educated, confident adults. Don't take that away from them.

I'm hoping on going into performing arts as a job in the future and don't want the arts findings to be cut at all they matter

Unbelievable how they cut budgets for arts, where peforming arts are devalued and also painting and drawing arts. The arts are just as important as any other subjects. Careers as an actor and artists are hard enough to get into, let alone without budget!

I am an art student myself, and lecturers from brimingham metropolitan college might be leaving and that means students won't be able to showcase there work next year which is a shame

There are so many pro's to the arts as a subject studied at school and at higher education as well as, as a career choice. It saves so many lives through outreach programmes and community projects that offer escapism to those in need and gives a voice to those that can't find the words. It educates millions of people every year through shining light on important cultural and social situations as well as providing one of the best forms of entertainment going. The arts are a way of life, they need to be invested in.

I am aiming to be going to stage school next year, with the continued cuts I will not be able to afford this and pursue the career choice I have chosen.
