I feel very strongly about this as I am going onto drama school this year and need every help I can get and so do many others I believe it may be the worse decision to cut funding for the arts as the arts are well known across the country and the best form of entertainment you could find.

Cutting the arts funding is cutting creativity.

The arts is one of many important aspects of our society. It allows people from every background, gender, ethnicity, etc, to showcase their talent and express themselves. It also promotes teamwork, communication and determination. Cutting funding for the arts is going to effect them dramatically.

I work as a volunteer in our local theatre and am saddened to see the swingeing cuts in grants imposed by the local council. This theatre offers hundreds of youngsters the opportunity to learn many of the skills to be a performer , whether or not they have ambitions to be a professional later in life. Where would they go and what would they do if they couldn't attend their theatre?

Creative industries are pumping billions into the economy, and the skills these subjects teach learners are transferable to so many other sectors, not to mention developing confidence, ambition and flexibility

Even though I feel that musical theatre is prioritised at BOA regarding it's funding, I feel that the 'arts' as a whole is an important sector of which a small percentage of young people look to venture into for a career. If yet another academy's funding is cut, so are another set of young people's goals and aspirations to excel in the creative arts. It's wrong.

I love the performing arts industry, and i am currently doing a performing arts course. So the last thing i want is this to happen!

It's a problem that we have with government ministers failure to appreciate the indescribably immense value of art because they are in the pockets of people who have commercial OCD.

The performing arts have been a central part of society since Ancient Greece, it proves talent and dedication. How can you put a price on theatrical tradition and life changing experiences?
