This plan is madness. You need to rethink your plans. What future will the bairns of orkney have if you with draw this vital service? Think again

Support for learning provision is already tight. Is inconceivable how we can "Get It Right For Every Child" with cuts being planned. Every child means every child. In an inclusive education authority, we should not be discriminating against young people with learning differences by cutting back on key support. If we do, then are we only paying lip service to this claim of inclusion?

Fully support the need for teaching assistants in orkney. No child should be left behind due to budget cuts. Shame they have such a big budget to host sporting events like the island games but not to fund the education of local bairns

The officials who came up with these suggestions are ex failed teachers and should be the ones that lose their jobs, saving the council a lot more than £65k.

My child benefits greatly from support for learning staff input. Cutting frontline staff is an unbelievably short sighted approach to managing budget cuts.

This is my line of work and classroom situations are becoming more and more fraught. Should this go ahead it will have a devastating impact on staff but more importantly pupils.

The govt is supposed to be trying to reduce the attainment gap & want to cut the people who are vital in supporting those who need extra help. It is soooo short sighted & makes me mad

It is absolutely vital that the funding is there, and our children get the help and support that they need. Invest in our children they are our future.
They do a fantastic job with the young ones
