Currently our Congress, its staffers and their favored hedge funds are using political intelligence, information gathered in the course of legislating, to trade securities before news of the legislative changes is made public. THIS IS CALLED TRADING ON INSIDE INFORMATION AND IT IS ILLEGAL FOR ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS. Congress has determined, and it seems from their inaction that the DOJ and SEC agree with them, that somehow they, their staffers and any hedge funds to whom they choose to sell this "political intelligence" are exempt from prosecution for insider trading as any other citizen would be. It is time to let Congress know they are not above the law, that they will be prosecuted for taking advantage of their political intelligence, for selling it, or for trading on it with their unfair advantage, just as any other citizen would be in this country.
