STOP COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT OF GAZAN
Petition Background
In Gaza the civilian population has been subjected to bombings, blockades and other forms of collective punishments since the elections of 2006. The Israeli government has incessantly carried out land, air and sea campaigns against the Gazans, who neither have the means to defend themselves nor an economy to sustain themselves. Israel has always maintained that its strikes are targeted and surgical. That is a gross misrepresentation of facts. In a place as densely populated as Gaza there is no possibility of targeted surgical operations and Israeli air strikes, which have grown in ferocity over the years, mostly kill women and children.
Petition
We the undersigned insist that the state of Israel abandon its genocidal policies against Palestinians in general and against the Gazans in particular. We further insist that the United Nations acts forthwith to stop the current spate of killings by the Israeli armed forces and to institute immediate measures to preclude any possibility of collective punishments being undertaken by the state of Israel in the future.
