As a resident of Highland Mills, I have enjoyed the convenience of having Sterling National Bank (formerly Provident Savings Bank), in my community for many years. Since Provident Bank merged with Sterling National Bank (fall of 2013), they have reduced the hours, no longer are open on Saturdays, and now have announced plans to close permanently. This leaves the closest branch in Monroe, which is over 10 miles round trip. This will cause great inconvenience for many of the residents in this community that have supported this bank and branch for many years.

The purpose of this petition is to impress upon the executives at Sterling National Bank that it is a very bad business decision to close this branch.
