Stop Closing ESPS for polling - Use the Church instead

There is absolutely no valid reason for closing a primary school each time there is an election when there are many perfectly viable alternative venues in the local area.

It is a complete nonsense to inconvenience hundreds of parents with a perfect alternative locally

Impossible for working parents and plenty of other local options available

There is a very under used Church, just a couple of minutes walk way from school, called Parkside church (previously Elim Pentecostal) www.parkside.cc at 173 Upper Richmond Road SW14 8DU that can be used instead.

I feel very angry about this being a teacher myself. There is none to look after my children!

It's wrong to use a school as a polling station as the disruption is immense. This impacts the childrens learning and causes additional stress for the parents. Time to find a new venue!

The opportunity to move the polling station to another venue must be considered.

Fully support a change of venue for polling days. It's a shame that the parents have had to put a petition together to make the council consider their options. The Council should have been leading this, not having to be persuaded.

As an employee and a parent the children are missing out on the Education and future because doing this we can't take my children on holiday but they can do this is not fair

100% on board with this - closing the school is disruptive to the kids' education, plus creates difficult childcare issues.

This should be addressed - closing schools for use as a polling station is simply unacceptable when there are alternative venues close by. I urge LBRUT to look into this and stop using the same excuses everytime we complain about this issue - be proactive and make the change!

Over the years ESPS did not always close, when the Rainbow Room existed this worked very well for Polling and school attendance was not affected. The size and site of ESPS has changed dramatically along with safeguarding onsite and the Council need to keep up and act accordingly. The Council urgently need to act on this matter - the Church is the obvious way to go.

Please stop using the school for these polling days - especially when there is a venue just up the road that could be used!

If the politicians we are electing cares about the children in their ward they would not use a school as a polling station.

There have been a huge amount of elections recently and it is totally unfair that the children at East Sheen Primary should suffer unnecessarily. Please find another polling station as soon as possible.

The use of ESPS as a polling station needs to stop. As proposed there is a church very close by which offers a viable option and the council cannot continue taking days of education away from the children. A considerable number of days have already been lost.

The impact on children’s education, not to mention the disruption on working parents is considerable. Please do consider the next door Church who would be happy to open the doors for voting.

We have lost loads of school days in the last couple of years due to local and national elections. Please find another venue!
