There are about 12.6 million children under the age of 14 engaged in child labor. Working in hotels, dangerous textile industries such as Cotton Fields where the children are continuously exposed to poisonous pesticides, and firework factories, these children are mistreated and malnourished. Many of these kids do not know what school is and many don't have the privilege of getting an education due to poverty. India introduced a law in 2006 stating no children under the age of 14 would work. But like many other laws in India, this law has not been enforced. The Labor of Ministry carried out 12,000 operations but only made 211 prosecutions. Now's the time to stand up and fight for the rights of those who can not be heard. By raising awareness and showing the government of India that we will not stay quiet while children get mistreated, we can bring about the change we want to see in this world. And all it takes is one signature! If Canada, United States, and other influential countries helped out we could put a stop to this at once!! I truly believe in this cause as I have seen many under aged children working in harsh conditions to make a few bucks and it is horrifying. Every signature matters so lets do this together!
