Not the breed, it's the owners raise them.

You should be ashamed of yourselves, taking this beautiful dog away from his family. #teamchico

Breed specific legislation is absolutely ridiculous. Rehoming or euthanizing a dog based solely on breed is unfair to animal and family

This makes me so angry - we need to challenge this law =. It is wrong, it is inhumane and it does not work . It has been proven over and over. STOP BSL it is cruel and a form of animal abuse!

This is unfair and grounded in nothing but unsubstantiated bias. Fear rather than common sense. Reverse this decision immediately!

I do not agree with this breed bylaw. It is not what breed of dog it is, but the lack of training on the owners part.

ALL dogs have the potential to bite, attack, be dangerous. THIS bylaw is not necessary.

BSL does nothing to improve the safety of residents and harms good, loving animals. Aggressive animals are made that way through training, not breeding! BAN THE OWNER, NOT THE BREED!

Research has shown that BSL does not work. More and more areas are repealing BSL. Join them, or kiss tourism dollars goodbye when this hits mainstream media.

BSL is discriminatory and serves no purpose! No family should be forced to give up their dog or move because of unfair bias. Shame on cowardly backwards politicians for being weak and trying to appease bigoted constituents who are ignorant of dogs and breeds.

Montreal has abandoned their Breed Specific Legislation. I trust that the powers that be in Guysborough will use the same common sense and do the same.

It doesn't work, so just stop.

Breed specific legislation is wrongheaded. Dogs are individuals just as people are and need to be judged accordingly. Removing a loving dog from a loving family simply because it has the appearance of a bully breed is ridiculous. A dangerous dog is a dog that has shown itself to be dangerous by its actions not its alleged breed.

Don’t bully the breed!

This dog should be able to stay with his family of 9 years. Abolish this senseless discriminatory law.

Ban is ridiculous , every dog no matter what the breed has the potential to bite. I have seen golden retrievers attack people. No breed deserves to be banned based on their breed. The owners make the dog , not breed. Every breed should be allowed , and even then it should be based on individual temperament and demeanour. I have owned “pitbulls” and currently own rotties, guess I would not be welcomed in your town. I can assure you though, my pit bull would have never harmed a soul, nor would my rotties, unless licking you to is an issue.

This is archaic. Any breed of dog can cause harm if not raised properly. Montreal has abandoned their Breed Specific Legislation. I trust that the powers that be in Guysborough will use the same common sense and do the same.

I have 2 wonderful Am staffs who are the light of my life - this is unbelievable in this day- you clearly do not understand the joy they bring to our hearts. This is the cruelest of punishments for an innocent animal. SHAME on those of you who have made this decision out of true ignorance of the breed.
