It is ridiculous to deem a dog may be dangerous and "may attack". Every dog can be dangerous regardless of size or breed.

There should be a grandfather clause; if the fog has lived without incident in the area for 9 years he should be allowed to remain. If my home town did this to me I would feel so incredibly bitter and it would never again feel like home.

Today I put down my 14-yr-old pit bull. He was rescued from the breed ban in Ontario after spending almost a year in a shelter. We lived in Toronto for several more years, where I was repeatedly harassed on the street because of how my dog looked. He never hurt anyone or anything. He was sweet and gentle towards cats, rats, ducks, squirrels, other dogs, people... The breed ban ignored all science and research. It encouraged people to hate me and my dog for simply existing. I moved out of Ontario to a place where people stopped their cars to tell me how beautiful my dog was. My sweet pup helped people get over their fear of dogs. Several friends of mine got dogs because they loved my guy so much. Breed bans are not founded in truth or reality. They encourage ignorance and hatred and harassment. My precious boy showed love to everyone. That's what pit bulls do. Look at real studies. Not garbage from peta, who wants to wipe out all domestic animals. Look at legitimate research. Listen to actual experts. And do away with your horrible ban. Stop punishing good dogs and good people.

any dog, regardless of breed, size or sex has the potential to be aggressive. it is up to the individual owner to maintain control over their pet at all times. BSL is a worthless bylaw and has been proven to be ineffective. Please let this family and any family affected by BSL be allowed to keep their beloved pet and dissolve this bylaw once and for all!

This is sad. ANY dog can be “dangerous”. It is not specific to the breed at all. It’s the dog. It is an individual just as people are.. Not ONE race or ethnic group is DANGEROUS. ugh.

It is NOT the breed that is bad but the owners. If an owner treats and trains the animal in a proper manner, then the owner usually has the control. This member of the family NEEDS to stay with the family.

Please stop BSL. Many other places have done this and since rescinded because there is no fact behind it. I urge you to stop letting fear make decisions and dissolve BSL.
