No one wins in this kind of situation. I hope your municipality reads some actual scientific literature on the so-called "natural aggression" of certain dog breeds and realizes it's completely and utterly unfounded. To the family: I am so sorry you live in a municipality that quickly jumps on "contemporary " bylaw trends from the USA. Before they realize what they've done, it will be too late for many families and their beloved furry friends. Sending you my best during this difficult time.

Ridiculous!! Dogs are only dangerous if they are raised to be dangerous

Speechless, absolutely speechless! With the animals that need living homes, how is it that anyone could forcefully make some remove a well love and nine violent family member from their home. I find this to be absolutely sickening. There are many other issues in this world that need to be addressed and they are worrying about something that may potentially happen and more then likely never happen and ruining a living home for an animal when there are so many out there who need living homes. Way to try and rip a family apart. Absolutely disgusting!

Seriously, Guysborough County? Please think about how wrong headed this is.

It is definitely how a dog is treated and trained. I am a letter carrier and the most vicious dogs I come across are small breeds and golden retrievers. Change this bylaw now.

Any dog can be potentially fierce and dangerous just like any man/woman can be potentially fierce and dangerous!!! Any living beings can be potentially....good or bad! This law makes no sense.

There is no breed of dog that should be deemed dangerous. It is the owner.

I believe this law is outdated and absolutely ridiculous. A German Shepard is just as "dangerous" as a Pitbull or Rottweiler... We need to see this for what it is and realize that bad owners create bad dogs it's the same as children. How you raise them determines if they are going to be good social adults or absolute pricks. Please don't destroy this dogs last chance at love and rip a family apart due to its genetic makeup. #endbsl

There is nothing wrong with any breed.. it is how they are raised and treated... leave the dog with its family

Please stop this terrible law

I understand the “has not attacked but has the potential to” however most animals if raised right and not abused will not be agressive or attack. You can’t punish one dog for the actions of another. It would be different if the dog did attack, then my all means put the guy down.... i thought we lived in a free country, where we can make our or decisions ESPECIALLY the ones around the pets we have in our homes.
