WE DID IT AND THE BREED BYLAW IS OFFICIALLY DISSOLVED!! I AM BEYOND THRILLED THAT OUR DOGS ARE FINALLY SAFE FROM DISCRIMINATION IN GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY!! LET US KEEP CELEBRATING THIS MASSIVE VICTORY WHILE WE STAY VIGILANT TO MAKE SURE THESE NEW RULES STAY IN PLACE FOREVER!!
We would like to see the breed bylaw in guysborough county dissolved. It's not right to deem a breed of dog as fierce and dangerous and they say we will take it...we are living in 2018 and people still don't understand that it's how the animal is raised and not just because of a breed.
I cannot believe a law like this exsists. As an owner of rottweilers I am shocked...it is never the breed it is bad owners. More bites happen with small breeds but its acceptable because they are little. It is how any animal is raised, not a breed.

Breed specific legislation is archaic and unacceptable. Scientific data proves it is ineffective at preventing dog bites . You should not judge a dog based on its breed. Please end this unacceptable and archaic legislation. Judge the deed, not the breed.

I did not know this was allowed in Nova Scotia. This is heartbreaking. There is no basis whatsoever for BSL. In the 70s Dobermans were the problem, in the 80s it was German Shepherds, the 90s was Rottweilers, now Pit Bulls. Uneducated people support BSL.

Please, please educate instead of judge this breed. Proper education, training and guidance is what we need, not BSL. These dogs didn’t ask for this. It’s unfair and completely unwarranted. These dogs are no more dangerous than a Lab or a Golden.

Any law that would cause a family to have to rehome their pet after almost a decade together for no other reason than the breed is 'seen as dangerous' is disgusting and archaic and should be abolished. This poor family, my heart bleeds for them.

The municipality of Guysboorough needs to wake up and realize that their bylaw is ridiculous and needs to change. I would be moving away from such a backwards place asap. Give your tax dollars to a town that understands breed laws do not work.

Pit bulls should not be banned. Most are not aggressive. Please save these babies.

I have owned 3 dogs of the so called "dangerous breed" and they have been the sweetest most loyal and obedient companions I have ever known. I am disgusted with the stigma these breeds have developed through irresponsible dog owners and what humans have done to them over the centuries. I too stand with all breeds !!!
