To whom it may concern,

This petition is about how ranchers should be banned from branding cattle. Being branded is a very painful experience for the cows, and the ranchers don't really get a huge advantage from this terrible act. As you probably know, branding is a way of identifying cows. For instance, if a thief stole cattle, the police would be able to identify the cows because branding is completely permanent. There are other possible ways to prevent branding such as installing security cameras and/or better security throughout the land the cattle are grazing on, or simply selling some of the cattle, gaining the money to care for the other cows and then buying the poor, old, suffering cows some antiseptic or buying the materials to tattoo the cow's ear.
If branding is stopped, the world will be a better place. We recently spoke to a farmer about branding and cattle, and he described how the ranchers in the area won't spend a penny more than they have to.
The law of branding is absolutely preposterous! Also, 'freeze branding' is far more effective solution. It costs no more than hot-iron branding, greatly reduces the pain, and instead of leaving a scar to identify cattle, merely makes the fur grow back white. If the ranchers aren't prepared to care, feed, and tame the cows, they are not worthy of the moniker, 'rancher'. Cows play an important role in our lives, giving us the opportunity to drink nutritious milk, and bring happiness to millions.
Anyone would think if an animal does a good deed, you would repay them with kindness. But not in this world. We think branding cows is downright wrong, no matter what.
