It's hard enough to sit through a 45 minute math class, let alone a 1 1/2 hour one. It's also scientifically proven that concepts need to be reinforced on a daily basis or they will be forgotten. Same with languages. To learn a language effectively, you need to practice speaking it every day, not just once or twice a week. The music department will also be affected. There will be less rehearsal time, and the rehearsal time we do get will be long and tedious. Some of the orchestra/band directors work at two schools, and there will be conflicting block schedules at the two schools. If it gets really extreme, one school might even get a new band/orchestra director, which is never a good thing. Block scheduling is NOT a good idea for anyone, so it should be stopped as soon as possible.
