Stop Big Government From Pushing Out Hometown Shooting Range

I don't trust what the government is trying to do here with their push on more gun control, they want to open a shooting range. Makes no sense to me.

Always been for the little man.

Our local economy is more important then the government!

City of Clovis, please stay out of private enterprise and use the money for something else!

This shooting range as been around for years now, I'd much rather go to Patriot than the new range out by the base.

Taxpayer funded projects should not compete with private enterprise. There is no way the facility built by the state will be self supporting. City funds should be spent to benefit more residents than a range would.

Spend our tax dollars elsewhere. We already have a good shooting complex with Patriot Outdoors.

We need to SERIOUSLY think about the people that use this park for their back yard every single weekend for cookouts and even during the week. Traffic is amazingly high at this park!! How would Relay for Life like to hear shots fired during their event??? It only takes ONE STRAY BULLET to change everything and everyone's thinking!!

No Government Firing Range!

It's a great place to shoot.

As a businessman myself, I have had to compete against my own tax dollar and it is not fair. Government is not supposed be in the business of recreation. It is not supposed to be competing with business at all! With the state of government finances how in the world can the government afford to build such a facility. DO NOT build the shooting facility. I for one and my family will never go if you build it.

Governments often use the benefit of their tax and regulation-exempt status to compete unfairly with small businesses. As businesses are bankrupted, our tax base is reduced. As the tax base diminishes, our tax rate increases. Thus, when governments enter into inappropriate functions all taxpayers suffer from heavier taxation. It is called “managed” competition and in my book, it is unfair competition, by definition as a government agency or quasi government agency enters into the business of offering private goods or services to the market. The City of Clovis does not need to be in the gun range business any more than it needs to open a new Pharmacy on the corner of Llano Estacado and go into competition with Roden Smith. How would you like that David Langford?

This will be another waste of state funds. The welcome center was barely opened before it was closed. Use the money to drug test welfare recipients.

Shouldn't you guys be focusing on more things. Like I don't know maybe our southern. Border with Mexico!!!
