Tumblr has recently been going on a suspending spree and many innocent bloggers have had their blogs taken away. This is including both dietandcigarettes and 88istheperfectweight. Neither of these blogs were promoting or glorifying eating disorders. They, as well as others were merely using tumblr as a diary, a way to reach out to others, and for others to reach out to them. Tumblr needs to know that we as a community will not tolerate their recklessness. By suspending blogs like these, many girls (and boys) will be away from their support systems. Tumblr needs a better system to determine whether or a not a blog is promoting eating disorders because what they are doing right now is causing more harm than good. We are asking that they do more research into a person's blog before assuming they are pro-eating disorder (like reading disclaimers), and from this we as a community also demand they give bloggers who had their blogs taken away back. If tumblr is going to suspend accounts, they need to give out at least a 48 hour warning so that the person may delete the so called content that is voilating tumblr policy. By immediately suspending the blog without warning, not only is the person not able to reach out to other bloggers to let them know what it going on, they have no way of keeping their blog from being deactivated. So to conclude, tumblr users are demanding that tumblr comes up with a better system of determining blogs that violate policy, give a 48 hour notice if a blog is going to be suspended, and give back blogs that were wrongfully taken away (including dietandcigarettes and 88istheperfectweight).

Tumblr needs to realize they are deleting people's actual support circles. my blog was my only place to vent and now its just gone without a word. really unfair.
