What the hell! Do this in Hikka...that's what hikka beach is there for. Rekawa has 5 of the world's 7 species of marine turtles coming there to nest. The importance of Rekawa is beyond compare. LEAVE IT ALONE!

how about anywhere where there are not endangered animals laying their eggs? CITY HAS TO PROVIDE A BETTER LOCATION BY THE WAY !!!!!!! why would a festival on such place get confirmed by the authorities anyway ? ?

Well said Dr Rishani Gunasinghe. ALL Politicians need to support this petition by stopping this event taking place. Please read "Sunela Jayewardene's words "Sri Lanka does not need this low quality tourism that violates our laws".

Organizers are there ONLY to make revenue; they have no respect or care for the Wildlife in the country. Ceylon is a tiny country which has a myriad of biodiversity. ALL Citizens need to protect what is remaining rather than decimating it. Drugs, alcohol and money seemed to be fad things hence they are "must have fashion accessories for rich people, who want these type of parties. Please find somewhere else to enjoy folks... not this place... Thank you.

What should be highlighted is that the slightest sound makes the turtles turn away without laying their eggs. Therefore this shud not happen or needs to avoid the nesting season.
