HI my name is Josh. I am wanting to make animal abusers suffer for what they do to animals in Manitoba. Right now if you abuse an animal you must pay a fine. I believe that animal abuse should be a law that involves jail time. On January 24th 2012, 71 dogs were rescued from a garage just outside Manitoba. The picture on this petition is one of them! The abuse has to stop, and it has to stop now. Please sign this petition and make a change in a dogs life.
I just saw the alert that we hit 250 signatures and honestly my brain is kind of stuck on that number because I never expected this to go anywhere when I sat down at my laptop. Those dogs in that garage were just so miserable and I still think about them all the time but it feels like maybe now people are finally starting to see why this needs to change.

I was looking at the screen earlier and realized we are almost at two hundred and fifty signatures which honestly blows my mind because it feels like just yesterday I was sitting here alone thinking about those dogs in the garage. If you could just send this to someone new right now our momentum would be absolutely massive for when we finally take this to the officials.

I see the numbers crawling up and it actually makes me feel like my heart might explode or something because those dogs in the garage really deserve justice and not just a tiny fine. If everyone who already signed pulls out their phone and bugs their friends to get us past that hundred marker we might actually start getting some real attention on this.

I live in East St Paul and I think it is time Manitoba joined all the other places and passed laws that animal abuse convictions should carry a jail sentence.

There needs to be stronger laws for the animals. Right now not even the police will do anything and calling animal control in my area they never get back to you I have tried....

More needs to be done to stop this abuse! Huge fines & jail time - and mandatory community service in animal shelters for 5years! (Supervised of course)

Things must change! Animal abuse is a serious criminal offense and must be treated as such by law enforcement and the judicial system.

No one should get away with abusing any animal. There must be harsh penalties. Non human animals do not have a voice to speak out against the atrocities committed against them human beings. Those humans need to be punished.

It is about time animals are viewed and treated as living feeling beings not property. Jail time should be mandatory for anyone abusing an animal.
