URGENT CALL TO ACTION: Save Reduit Beach for All Saint Lucians

Saint Lucians, our beloved Reduit Beach is being taken from us—and we must act now. Since mid-2024, A’ILA Resorts has launched a massive construction project that is not only harming the residents living nearby, but also threatening public access to one of our most iconic beaches.

What’s Happening:

  • Over two-thirds of the beach will be reserved exclusively for hotel guests, including private umbrellas, cabanas, and limited access.
  • Public beach access is shrinking with no clear explanation of where locals will be allowed to go.
  • Construction is causing major loss of rental income, property damage, and constant disruption to daily life.
  • Vital drainage infrastructure has been destroyed, creating flooding risks.
  • Construction laws are being ignored, with noise and dust from early morning to late at night.
  • 80% of the construction workforce are not Saint Lucians.

This is not just about Reduit Beach residents—it’s about all of us. Reduit Beach is a national treasure, and public access must be preserved for every Saint Lucian.

We Demand:

  1. A clear and legal guarantee that two-thirds of the beach—from the Starfish Hotel boundary to Marie’s Fish Shack—remains reserved for Saint Lucian residents.
  2. Full public disclosure of A’ILA Resorts’ development plans and environmental impacts.
  3. Compensation for affected residents and repairs to damaged infrastructure.
  4. Strict enforcement of construction laws and environmental protections.
  5. Road maintenance and full repair of already damaged roads caused by construction activity.

Sign and share the petition now.

Let’s send a clear message: Saint Lucia is not for sale.
